Why I’m Starting This Blog (Even Though I’d Rather Be Writing Code)

Hey, I’m Doug, and I’m excited to kick off this blogging journey. If I’m being honest, I much prefer writing code over words. Writing isn’t exactly my favorite thing, but I believe in pushing myself and growing professionally—so here I am!

I’m Doug, based in sunny Tampa, Florida, where I have the privilege of creating digital experiences as the VP of Web and Digital Experience at SmartBear. My passion for building things started early, from taking gadgets apart as a kid to exploring the newest web technologies. Today, I’m fortunate to lead a talented team and support developers and testers worldwide.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing guitar, staying active, and indulging in some video gaming. This blog will mix my thoughts on technology, creativity, and personal adventures.

So why start a blog if I don’t like writing? Simple—I want to grow. Tackling things outside my comfort zone has always been part of my journey. I plan to add 1 to 2 posts per month to this site, sharing insights, projects, and reflections. All thoughts here are my own, and I hope that by sharing my experiences, I can connect with others who share my passions.
